River Hong Bao 2013

We visited River Hong Bao Carnival at The Float @ Marina Bay on the third day of CNY.

Leonitus and I took pictures with our Chinese Zodiac signs. I was born in the Year of the Pig. Oink!

While Leonitus was born in the Year of the Ox. Moooo....

Daddy making wishes by throwing the coins at the fortune bells.

Having our pictures taken with the lanterns of the Giant Panda, Kai Kai and Jia Jia.

Our first family portrait for CNY 2013.

A giant God of Fortune lantern.

Taking family pictures with Fu (God of Good Fortune), Lu (God of Prosperity), Shou (God of Longevity).

There is a funny-looking lantern of another God of Fortune on top of a huge pineapple.

What's a carnival without children rides right?! But the rides were really expensive! We were given a choice to choose one ride that we both want to take and we both agreed on this.

The sky was turning dark and all the lanterns were lit up, but it was time for us to go home because Leonitus was getting tired and cranky as the people poured into the carnival ground.

Although very crowded and hot, it was kind of fun and we might visit River Hong Bao again next year.

CNY 2013 - Kong Ming Lantern

Normally, we would have blogged about our first day of CNY by now, but this year is a little bit different. We didn't have the mood to take pictures because a terrible accident happened on the first day of CNY. While we were at the first stop of our visiting, our grandfather had a bad fall and we had to take him to the hospital. Luckily, he didn't have to stay in the hospital but his wrist was fractured and might need a surgery later on.

OK, as CNY continues, we shan't let this small setback affect us so much. So here is our Day 2 of CNY, we visited our grandma and godparents, then a took a small detour on our way home and dropped by West Coast Park, coz Daddy wanted to show us the Kong Ming Lantern.

We were so curious when Mommy told us that this lantern could fly. We have seen many lanterns but not one that flies!

We had our wishes written on the lantern. I wanted a colorful kite, Leonitus wished for superhero toys. Mommy and Daddy just had to make better wishes for us. Mommy wished for happiness and good health for everyone in our family. Daddy wished for a united family that stays strong together.

Our Kong Ming lantern floated gently off the ground.

And carried our wishes up into the sky.

As we were leaving the park, I asked Daddy, "Would my colorful kite drop down from the sky tomorrow?" HAHAHAHA.....

Our Mini Lou Hei

Daddy bought a very small portion of 'yusheng' and we had a cozy 'lou hei' session just for ourselves.

Huat ah! May the year of the dragon brings all of us best of health and lots of good luck!

Reunion Dinner with Mommy's Friends

Every year, Mommy will have a reunion dinner with some friends that she knew for the last 16 years or longer, they are also my 舅舅's schoolmates. This year the dinner was held at a private room of Peach Garden Restaurant, Hotel Miramar. Mommy brought along me and Daddy to the dinner.

I met some friends there; they were the children of Mommy's friends.

And there was also my cousin, Caine, son of my 舅舅.

I not only had fun with the children, I also had fun playing with Uncle Weizhang.

I can amuse myself anytime with just an orange when everyone was busy.

After the dinner, we had our annual group photo taken before we said our goodbyes.

See you next year!! Hopefully, there will be more little friends, like Leonitus and Baby Egon, joining us for the dinner.

Ang Paos Galore

Last year's CNY, Leonitus was too tiny for operation red packet. But this year, with his participation, we collected SO MANY MORE ang paos!

Looks like Leonitus will be laughing all the way to the bank this year!

CNY 2010, First Day

Today is the first day of Chinese New Year. I wake up early today because I want to go visiting and collect ang paos!

Daddy's friend bought this cheongsam for me, everyone at home say I look pretty in it.

Mommy tied my hair up so that I can look my best. She had a hard time doing it because I keep fidgeting about.

With my shoes on, I am ready for 'Operation Ang Pao'.

This year, only Daddy and I are going visiting as Mommy, who just had a baby, has to stay at home to rest.

"GONG XI FAI CAI, EVERYBODY!"

CNY Celebration at BJG

It's 2 more days to Chinese New Year. We had a CNY celebration in my school, BJG today, that's why I was wearing this tradition Chinese outfit instead of my usual school uniform.

Coincidentally, Daddy, who was driving me to school was also in red. So we took our first CNY pictures together, next to our red pussy willow.

I can't wait to collect ang pao. I have been practicing to say "gong xi fa cai".
