Quarantine Again

After the torturous episode of HFMD, I didn't think I would be in quarantine again so soon. 

On Monday, I went to school and teacher there suspected me of having chicken pox. Even though I don't have fever, only have 4 or 5 red dots on my face and body, doctor still wanted me to stay isolated for at least a week. 

I am REALLY BORED staying at home!

Eyelash Woe

Did you find my brother, Leonitus' eyes looking funny? It seems his left eye is smaller, but saddled with a bigger eye-bag. He has an eye condition, known as Blepharitis, it's an inflammation of the eyelash follicles. I think, it must be his eyelashes are too long lah!

HFMD

We hadn't been updating our blog for a while, because both Leonitus and myself caught Hand, Foot, Mouth Disease and were kept out of public places and school for a while.

We have since recovered and dying to go out for some adventures soon. Stay tuned.

Infections!

We are both sick. Mommy brought us to KKH first thing in the morning, after I cried the entire night because my ear was so painful. We were both feeling very cold, the nurse brought us a blanket. She was so nice.

Leonitus was wheezing, doctor arranged for an x-ray for him.

It turned out that I have middle ear infection and Leonitus have lung infection, which explained why the both of us are having such bad fever.

Leonitus was getting cranky when we returned home, his temperature had shot up to 39.5!

Hopefully we will recover soon after taking the anti-biotics. No school for us for the next couple of days.

Lonely at home

I can't go to school, I can't go ballet, I can't go for my art lesson. I can't go anywhere... because I am suspected of having Hand, Foot, Mouth.

First His Nose, Then His Finger

Two weeks ago, Leonitus hurt his nose quite bad when he fell from the bed; last Saturday, he hurt his finger.

He had his finger on the hinge of the door when I was closing the door. It was so painful that he cried for 45 minutes.

Fortunately, everything is well on the road of recovery now. Hopefully, he will be safe from now on.

Bioresonance Therapy

I wasn't just sitting on a comfortable chair watching cartoon, I was actually receiving therapy - Bioresonance Therapy, which is supposed to use the principles of quantum physics to modify my electromagnetic oscillations in order to attain balance of my body’s energetic imbalances. These energetic imbalances result in conditions such as my allergies, eczema & food intolerance.

I had always been told I suffer from allergies, that is why I keep sneezing and have stuffy nose. But I really do not know what I was allergic to until recently. With Bioresonance Therapy, I was diagnosed with food intolerance; eating gluten, lactose and seafood make me sick.

As Bioresonance Therapy is considered as an alternative form of medical treatment. We are still unsure if it really works, so I was to be the lab rat for the family. If this works, I believe Leonitus would be able to get over his asthma too. *finger crossed.

Unpredictable

One moment, Leonitus would be running about, swinging his arms...

... the next moment, he was running a temperature as high as 39.4 Degree Celsius.

That's how unpredictable children can be!

Updated on 9th Aug '11 (11.30pm):

Leonitus's fever hit as high as 40.3. Mommy and Daddy drove him to KKH at 4am and he was kept under observation. Luckily, his temperature came down and he was allow to go home later in the morning.

Unfortunately, I must have catch the bug and is beginning to fall sick too; had fever and tummyache. Mommy is going to be very busy the next few days, looking after the two of us.

The Best Medicine

Leonitus just had his vaccination and is feeling a little crappy. He has been crying a lot and refusing to eat at times.

Nothing seems to be able to make him feel better, until Mommy surrendered and decided to let him have it his way, which is eating lollipop and wafer for lunch.

And they worked like a charm! Leonitus was instantly cheered up and decided to stop making everyone else's lives miserable with his crying and whining.

Disclaimer: Mommy usually do not allow us to eat junks as a substitute for meals.

Children's Tui Na

It was a stormy Sunday morning, Daddy and Mommy woke up unusually early and drove in a crazy weather just so that we can visit this Chinese Physician, somewhere in the east. We had been coughing for the last one week.

They must be really good because the clinic was so crowded even on a morning with such a horrid downpour that flooded so many parts of Singapore. They specialised in children's tui na, a type of Chinese massage that could improve ailments from cold to hyperactivity!

I LOVE my tui na to the MAX! Totally enjoying myself, as you can tell from the pictures below.

Leonitus was fine at the beginning but became slightly cranky towards the end, but luckily there were lots of toys and books to keep children, like him, entertained. And the tui na shi-fus were real good with children too.

Mommy is afraid to disclose the name of the Chinese Physician on this post for the fear that the freakishly long queue could become even longer. But if you are dying to know about this place, do email my mommy privately.

Go Away Virus!

I had caught the virus from Leonitus :(

Mommy had to sponge me to bring my temperature down because I am burning hot at 38.8 degree even after taking medicine.

Domestic Injuries

Today is not a good Saturday for me and Leonitus.

I always have been allergic to mosquito's bites; sometimes I just needed some steroid-based cream but there are times where I have to see a doctor to get antibiotic because the skin around the bite will become swollen and inflamed, just like this time round.

Yesterday evening, Mommy had already brought me to my paediatrician, but my foot is still in quite a bad shape today.

Although the two bites were on my heel and ankle, the swelling goes as far as my calf. Now my right leg is bigger than my left. Mommy calls it "The Elephant Foot".

Leonitus, who had some fungus infection on his face, also went to the paediatrician yesterday. He was doing fine until this afternoon, he had a mishap while crawling and hit his face on the floor. His front teeth cut his lower lip. He was bleeding and crying for a good while. Now he has a pouty-looking lips. Sexy!



Let's hope we all recover soon because next weekend, we'll be going for a short road trip. And we certainly look forward to that.

Hand, Foot & Mouth Disease

Leonitus started having fever last Wed night; Daddy and Mommy brought him to our pediatrician who gave him some paracetamol. But he was still having fever on and off and he was looking so listless on Saturday that made Mommy really worried.

So off they went to KKH, where Leonitus had his finger pricked for the first time to do a blood test.

Unfortunately it wasn't very serious, just Hand, Foot & Mouth Disease, the doctor at KKH told Mommy.

But it was really strange, because Leonitus didn't have rashes until the fever subsided a day later and all the rashes can be found anywhere except his hands and feet and the rashes didn't even look like anything we saw from the internet. (*Scratch head)



So... is it still Hand, Foot & Mouth Disease or... it looks to me more like Head, Shoulder and Tummy Disease.

Breaking out in hives

I have been breaking out in hives since last Friday evening. Daddy brought me to my paediatrician who gave me some cream and medicine but can't tell why I get those hives. I am scratching and leave marks all over on my body because it itches so badly.

Leonitus is sick

Poor Leonitus! He had to see a doctor because he has been coughing and crying throughout the night. Doctor told Mommy that there is a nasty virus around making little children sick.

Leonitus has caught Bronchiolitis again. He had to be nebulized but he was so brave that he didn't shed a tear throughout the whole session.

The Attack of The Red Eye Monsters

It started with Leonitus. In less than 48 hours, Conjunctivitis (AKA Red Eye) has infected our maid and myself.

Leonitus is just a little more unpredictable in his feed. As for me, I have really turned into a Red Eye Monster! My whining is killing everyone at home!

I am not going to school for the next few days. Mommy also says I cannot go and play with anybody until my eyes are alright. I am so going to miss all my friends.

Meanwhile, Mommy is doing all she can to be spared from this super contagious disease so that she can have the energy to take care of us.

Pesky Flu Bug (Part 2)

I am still having fever. And piglet probably caught the bug too. Cold towels for both of us.

I had been especially clingy to Mommy. I won't let her sleep and want her to carry me like a baby all the time. She is taking this as an opportunity to lose some weight. Hehehe...

Pesky Flu Bug

It wasn't too long ago that I had just recovered from bronchitis; now I am sick again. I came down with a fever last night after a few days of cough and runny nose.

Mommy brought me to see a doctor in the morning and I had to use the nebulizer in the clinic because my lungs were very congested. I cried initially but after Mommy sang my fav song 'A,B,Cs' to calm me down, I was brave enough to hold up the mask up on my own.

My doctor told Mommy that there is a nasty flu bug going around at this moment, it's making a lot of young children, like me, very sick.

I hope I can get well soon so that I can go back to school to play with my friends,

I have been MIA from this blog for a while because both Leonitus and I had been unwell for a while; we had bronchitis and had to visit our paediatrician for a couple of times.

Because of the frequent visits, I am getting fascinated with the work of a doctor. Who knows, I might be Dr. Laetitia Ng in the future.
