Fun at West Coast Park

It's been a while since we last visited West Coast Park. This time we came with our friend, KX. She has been asking her mother to bring her out with us after knowing what great company we can be. Hehe..

KX's mom was really cool, she brought us lots of sand digging tools and even plastic bags for us to play "ta-bao" of the sand, which we pretended that they were bags of rice.

The zip-line was really fun, but accidents do happen if you aren't alert. I knocked into a little girl when she was standing too close to the launch pad of the zip-line. I felt bad after Daddy chided me for not being careful. : (

We had so much fun!!

*Thank you KX's mom for these lovely pictures, taken by her mobile phone.

Mid Autumn Festival 2013

Yesterday was Mid Autumn Festival, but I like to call it Lantern Festival because Singapore really doesn't have four seasons and it is just summer all year round.

Anyway, after eating out D24 durian mooncake, we got out lanterns and headed to the park.

There were already many people in the park, carrying their lanterns or lighting up candles and sparklers.

We had wanted to play and get ourselves dirty at the playground, but we kind of just showered, so we will leave that for another day.

We walked round the park to the darker area where our lanterns really glowed!

It was close to our bedtime and we got to head home. Mommy was quite surprised that we didn't burn down our lanterns because this is the first time we were using real flames, and not bulbs.

This morning, Mommy woke up early to dress us up for our school's Mid Autumn celebration. She dressed us to a retro theme. Haha..

Finally Mommy was able to capture a decent picture of Leonitus who is always goofing around in front of the camera.

Looking forward to have that last durian mooncake in the fridge. I heard it is a Mao Shan Wang one! Yummy!!

Better Than Bird Park

We'd just been to the Jurong Bird Park, and we did enjoy ourselves very much. But this place is better than Jurong Bird Park because we got to feed, hold, touch, handle and play with the birds, and most importantly there is NO ADMISSION CHARGES, whatsoever!

So where is this amazing place? It's at Farmart Centre, near Sungei Tengah Road.

We were there for dinner, last weekend and then we met this group of avid bird lovers who gathered at the space beside the food centre. Leonitus' curiosity drawn him to the birds and we were surprised when one of the bird owners let Leonitus handle a very tamed lovebird!

Subsequently, we got better with the birds and the owners just let us played with them. Almost all the birds were very tamed and well-trained. They were from the parrot family, like lovebirds, budgies, cockatiel etc. Some even performed very impressive tricks, better than some that we saw at the Bird Park!

Disclaimer: These birds belong to a few uncles who gathered Farmart for leisure. They didn't charge us for handling or playing with their pet birds. However, they can refuse you from touching them, if you aren't welcome. So let's just say, we were certainly too cute for the uncles and they adored us so much, they let us play with their pet birds!

The New Fidgets

It had been a while since we lasted visited Fidgets and it has gotten itself a brand new look!

The new Fidgets has becomes bigger than before, with brighter counter and really cute shoes deposit shelves.

There is a craft area and even a baking area (not shown here) for those who are less hyper - so unlike us, we like to be wild and run all over the place like little monkeys! Hahaha..

There a rest area with bean bags for us to chill if we ever get tired.

Although the renovation is massive, the play area remains the same. Some of the play structures are looking a tad too old and some even has parts that are falling apart. The ball area was pathetic. It was once filled with balls, but now is almost barren.

But kids being kids, we just couldn't care less, but enjoy ourselves to the max!

See this 3-storey rabbit hole (tunnel slide), this is Leonitus' favourite! He climbed up and slide down it countless times.

And he even made himself a friend - another little boy who loves the thrill as much as he does. These boys are just adrenaline junkies!

I played the more subtle slides. I enjoy climbing and going through the play gym.

The cafe has shifted to the other side of Fidgets. It's now bigger, with more sitting area. Daddy brought his books and laptop and was studying and doing his assignments while we played.

There is a runway in the middle of the cafe. Look at me catwalk down the runway! Sashaying and posing like a pro!

Leonitus also tried, but I think I am way better. Don't you think I have the potential to be a model. I am tall and naturally skinny slim.

The toddler's play area has also moved; it is still next to the cafe like before, so adults can have their coffees while watching over the younger kids.

It was such a coincidence that we met one of our friend, Xander, at Fidgets that day. No pictures of him though, because we were too busying playing and Mommy was too busy catching up with Xander's mom too. It was such an awesome day!
