Self-Feeding

Recently, Mommy had a hard time trying to get me to eat my food because I would try to snatch the spoon from her. So she decided to surrender the spoon to me and see what I would do with it.

I tried to feed myself with the spoon, but I don't seem to be able to get any food into my mouth. Oh... I had been using the wrong end of the spoon.

Ok, this time I got the spoon correct, but still there is no food when I sent the spoon into my mouth. Oh... the food had dropped onto the floor.

Finally, I think I got something inside my mouth. Mmmm... I had only managed to scoop up a teeny bit of sauce, from my cheesy broccoli and potato, with my spoon.

You know what?! When I was done eating, more than 70% of that cheesy broccoli and potato were found everywhere; on the table, high chair and floor, except in my stomach!

Well, that's already a small step towards my self-feeding success already!

The Big Tub

I finally got the chance to bath in Mommy's big bathe tub.

Some babies might cry when water is being splashed onto their face, but for me, it was really fun!

See, I have my punky hair again!

Because bathing in the big tub was so much fun, I ended up throwing a horrible tantrum when Mommy tried to get me to finish my bathe.

Guess, I wouldn't be using the big tub for a very long while after this.

Walk My Walk

I am going to be 14 mth old in another week's time. More than half the babies my age would have started walking. Although I still can't walk with my feet, but I can "walk" with my knees!

In case, you are wondering just what I was chasing. I was going after Mommy's postal package. I am gonna rip it up once I get my hands on it!

Happy Chinese "Niu" Year (Day 2)

Today is the second day of CNY. Daddy and Mommy spent the afternoon taking turns to look after me as well as to tidy up the house.

In the evening, we went to a relative's place for dinner where I had to chance to catch up with cousin Zevon.

And there was also our little uncle, Ah Lun who is just 7 yr old. He wasn't to keen to let us play with his PSP for the fear that we might destroyed it. And it is exactly what we intend to do if we can get our hands on it. Hehehe...

Mommy fed me with some mandarin orange, but it was kind of sour. I prefer to play with it than to eat it.

Just before we leave for home, I caught sight of this very pretty lantern. It was so nice that I almost wanted to pull it down to bring home, but then they say, "Can see, can touch but cannot take huh!!"

Mommy & Daddy are working tomorrow, so we have to go home early to rest, but it was fun having cousin Zevon for company. I hope I get to play with him again. Ok, I promise, I will try not to snatch his water bottle the next time. Kekekeke....

Happy Chinese "Niu" Year

Today is the first day of CNY and Mommy dressed me up like a china doll!

We went to many places for visiting and to collect 'ang pao'! But I am more interested in the mandarin oranges than the red packets coz I could throw them around like balls!

See, 'er gu po' has so many oranges at home! Oh, I am so busy rearranging the oranges!
The mission for CNY is to eat as much junks as my tummy can hold as well as to collect as many 'ang pao' as possible.

See, not bad huh. My "earnings" for running 6 places today!

And if you are wondering why there is a redish purple patch on my left cheek, I fell down earlier, in a relative's home after stepping on my own pants. Mommy thinks the bruise will get worst by tomorrow. What a way to start the new year!

Spring Cleaning

Our maid left, so Mommy had to do all the CNY spring cleaning on her own. So poor thing!

That's why I decided to help her. See, what a good girl I can be!

My Drinking Cup

When I was 6 mth old, Mommy bought a sprout cup for me. She tried numerous times to feed me water with it, but I refused to drink. Because of this, she was actually a little worried that her baby was lacking behind.

But every child is different and the baby milestones can be quite bullshit sometimes. Instead of transiting from teats to sprout then straw in the conventional way, I went straight into straw when I was 9 mth old and I had not look back since.

Now that I am a big baby, I drink water from straw or sip directly from a cup.

Occasionally, I can get a little bit too obsessed drinking from my cup and would refuse to let go of it even when there is no more water in it. That irritates the hell out of Mommy.

Bread

I am so cute right?!

Look what I have got here. Bread... Yummy!!

It's so good that I can eat it on its own.... erm actually I am eating it with its plastic packaging!

To The Library

Mommy had always been a supporter of the library; she loves to read but thinks that spending money on buying books would be such a waste when we can just walk into a library, grab some books for free! I think she is passing on this good habit of library-going, on to Daddy and me.

As we stayed so near to CCK Community Library, it is so convenient for us to visit the library over the weekends as a family. This branch actually had been recently renovated and it even had a cosy corner for babies' books.

Daddy is assigned to help me out on the selection of books to borrow. I must say, Daddy has really good taste for books; those that were chosen by him were far more interesting than those that I randomly pulled out.

I might not be able to read on my own yet, but I definitely enjoying going to the library and flipping through those pages of colorful books.

Visiting Chinatown

Daddy thinks it might be good to bring me to Chinatown to look at the CNY decorations because I had always shown great interest with festive ornaments.

We didn't really buy anything, except for some CNY posters to decorate our home. I was quite cranky because it was rather hot to shop in the afternoon sun, despite dressing in an airy, sleeveless dress. Mommy kept saying I am a polar bear who cannot stand the Singapore weather!

"Argghh!!!! Mommy, look! There is a giant in the middle of the road!!"

Chinatown was so packed, luckily we were there in the afternoon and when the crowd began to pour in around evening, it was time for us to make a move.

I caught Roseola over the weekend

.
Roseola is sometimes known as false measles or baby measles. It gave me a fever, followed by runny nose, sore throat and rashes all over my body.

The rash was so bad that I had them even on the sole of my feet!

As it was a Sunday afternoon and all the paediatricians' offices were closed. Daddy & Mommy brought me to KK Children's Hospital. This was already my 3rd visit. I had visited this hospital twice before; when I fell off the bed and when I had accidentally 'twisted' my arm.

Because my throat was quite sore, I had very little appetite and seems to have lost a bit of weight.

So Mommy made me some home-made Avocado Mousse. It was so tasty that I finished the entire bowl and was still hoping for more!

Directions for making Avocado Mousse:
1) Put half an avocado, 1 scoop of Vanilla ice-cream and 60ml of milk into a blender.
2) Blend until it becomes smooth and fluffy. Serve immediately

Have no worries, I am recovering well, even though I can be a little bit cranky. But hey! What do you expect, I am still a baby!

Going crazy over home-made banana smoothie

Daddy made the most delicious home-made banana smoothies that I can't never get enough of. It was so good that I had to lick off every last drop. (Watch the video below)

Recipe for Banana Smoothies:
1 ripe banana
1 scoop of generic brand vanilla ice-cream. You can also make your own ice-cream
several cubes of ice

Directions:
Just dump everything into a blender and blend it thoroughly. Serve immediately.

YUMMY!! GOOD TO THE LAST DROP!
